Halloween has been postponed in several shoreline communities.
The mayors of New Haven, East Haven, West Haven and Milford have agreed that conditions remain dangerous in their municipalities and that trick-or-treating should be postponed until Nov. 7.
The towns all have roads that are still impassible and that a significant percentage of residents are still without power. There may also be a number of downed wires in some neighborhoods.
Postponing trick-or-treating for one week will give the towns a chance to clean up, and provide an opportunity for the power companies to make repairs to the power lines and turn the electricity back on, according to officials.
