Hartford Healthcare to Handle Records of Closed Practices

Connecticut officials say an agreement has been reached that enables Hartford Healthcare to oversee medical records of patients formerly of InHealth Connecticut, a medical group that suddenly closed several doctors' offices.

Attorney General William Tong and Department of Public Health Commissioner Renee Coleman-Mitchell say they've received nearly 200 complaints from former InHealth patients who've had difficulty obtaining their medical records from three recently shuttered practices in Norwich, Mystic and Willimantic.

Tong says he and Coleman-Mitchell appreciate Hartford Healthcare's willingness to reach this agreement with InHealth, ensuring the former patients can obtain their records without further delay.

The records will be transferred to Hartford Healthcare's Waterford facility at 196 Parkway South, where patients can obtain them free of charge. Beginning Aug. 12, patients can call 860-425-5970 to schedule a pickup.
