Hartford Man Tasered After Spitting in Ex-Girlfriend's Face, Trying to Fight New Boyfriend at Wedding Reception: Police

A Hartford man was shot with a Taser and arrested after allegedly spitting in his ex-girlfriend’s face at a wedding reception, trying to fight her new boyfriend and hiding from police in a sewer pipe, authorities said.

It happened at a wedding reception held the night of Oct. 11 at The Barns at Wesleyan Hills at 616 Long Hill Road in Middletown. Police said 32-year-old Eric Delgado spit at his ex-girlfriend and attempted to assault her new boyfriend, then ran from the venue before officers arrived.

Police found him hiding in a nearby drainage tunnel and said he was uncooperative when officers repeatedly asked him to get on the ground and show his hands. One officer then shot Delgado with a Taser, police said.

Delgado was charged with interfering with an officer/resisting arrest and disorderly conduct.
