Hartford Police Crack Down on Illegal ATV Use

Hartford police seized four ATVs cited their riders as part of a crackdown on illegal ATV use in Hartford Sunday.

Police conducted a citywide enforcement operation Sunday in response to complaints from residents of illegal riders driving recklessly on city streets and parks.

The riders, who were all adults, were not identified.

Police said there will be similar operations throughout the spring and summer.

In recent years illegal use of ATVs and dirt bikes on city roads has also been a problem in other towns and cities including Waterbury, New Haven, and New Britain.
