Hartford police are investigating a homicide Wednesday night.
Police said officers were first called around 6 p.m. when an assault victim arrived at St. Francis Hospital. The victim, later identified as 41-year-old Martin Hamilton, died at the hospital.
Investigators believe the incident started inside a building at 410 Sigourney St.
“At this point, it does not look to be a gunshot wound or a stab wound, more of a physical assault," Lt. Aaron Boisvert, of the Hartford Police Department, said.

Investigators said this was a targeted attack and that the people involved knew each other.
The Crime Scene Division and Major Crimes Division are investigating. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tip line at 860-722-TIPS.
