Hartford School Locked Down After Report of Student With Weapon

Police were called to Hartford Magnet Trinity College Academy on Friday morning after a report of a student with a weapon.

The school, located on Vernon Street, was placed into lockdown at 9:45 a.m., according to a spokesperson for Hartford Public Schools. Hartford police said a student was overheard implying he had a gun.

The student was identified and searched and police searched the school but did not find a weapon, the spokesperson said.

Hartford police said a 17-year-old boy was issued a juvenile summons and faces disciplinary action through the school.

The lockdown was lifted around 11 a.m. and the school day resumed as normal.
