In this troubled, recessing economy, many things are uncertain. Other than the certainty of jobs being difficult to find.
News came in yesterday that the state lost 14,300 jobs last month – the largest month over month loss since October 1990. From February 2008 to this February, 52,000 jobs were lost – 3 percent of the workforce.
Not to fear! The state is holding job fairs.
“These job fairs provide excellent opportunities for prospective employees to introduce themselves to recruiters and learn more about the jobs these companies are seeking to fill,” Governor Jodi Rell said.
She may not have to twist too many arms to get a big crowd.
- Manchester Community College will be hosting the first springtime job fair on Sat. March 28 from 9 am to 1 pm.
The job fairs, coordinated by the Connecticut Dept. of Labor, will have professional resume writers on hand to help tweak your professional prowess on paper, as well as, of course, employers seeking employees!
