Home Intruder Asks to Use Bathroom: Cops

He then left his mark outside the home, police said.

Police charged a man with breaking into a South Windsor home and telling the homeowner he needed to use the bathroom.

Health Elliot Cain, 36, broke into the home on Homestead Drive around 12:45 a.m. Wednesday, police said. A woman inside the home told police she woke up to find Cain standing over her bed. He then told the woman he needed to use the bathroom, according to police.

The woman said Cain seemed paranoid and made incoherent statements before running away. Police said he did not physically threaten or harm the woman, but officers say Cain defecated on the home's front walkway. Police used a canine to help track Cain and arrest him.

Cain may also be responsible for ringing doorbells of other homes in the area, police said.

He is charged with Second-degree Criminal Trespass, Criminal Mischief and Disorderly Conduct. Cain was held on $50,000 bond and was expected in court Wednesday.
