Come May 1, thousands of Anthem Blue Cross and Blue Shield members may not be covered for care they receive at Middlesex Hospital in Middletown.
Anthem and Middlesex Hospital have been negotiating a new managed care contract for weeks but have yet to come to an agreement.
Anthem says if an agreement cannot be reached , it will direct members to other hospitals for non-emergency care.
Both sides say they will continue to negotiate a deal that will suit both their customer and business needs.
