Hospital Worker Pleads Not Guilty In Sex Charge

A hospital worker has pleaded not guilty to charges he sexually assaulted a patient at Danbury Hospital, according to the News-Times.

Michael Wilmot, 47, faces two counts of first-degree sexual assault for allegedly performing a sex act last June on a female patient while she was under the influence of a narcotic pain reliever.

The Waterbury man was arrested in September. He was suspended from his job as a patient care technician.) that

Wilmot's lawyer said in September that the evidence was based on statements from someone who was heavily medicated.

"Anyone who is on any drug that may impair their judgment or ability to have cognitive reasoning, I think, is a factor," Attorney Ray Lubus said at the time.

Wilmot remains free on bond and the case was continued to Oct. 30.
