A series of detours and closures will be in effect starting this week due to work on the Mixmaster, which connects I-84 and Route 8 in Waterbury.
About 180,000 people drive through the Waterbury Mixmaster every day. It was designed for 50,000 to 60,000 vehicles per day.

Monday, March 11:
- Route 8 Northbound Exit 35 Off-Ramp Shoulder to Route 73: Closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- I-84 Westbound Exit 20 Off-Ramp: Closed 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- I-84 Westbound Exit 19 (Bank Street) On-Ramp: Closed 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- I-84 Westbound Right and Center Lanes: Closed 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- Route 8 Southbound Right Lane: Closed 8 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- I-84 Eastbound Exit 19 Off-Ramp to Route 8 Southbound: Closed 8 p.m. to 6 a.m. (Access to Riverside Street is unaffected)
- Route 8 Northbound Exit 35 Off-Ramp: One Lane closed 9 p.m. to 6 a.m.
Tuesday, March 12:
- Route 8 Southbound On-Ramp Shoulder from Route 73: Closed 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
- I-84 Westbound Exit 20 Off-Ramp: Closed 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
- I-84 Westbound Exit 19 (Bank Street) On-Ramp: Closed 10 p.m. to 6 a.m.
