Javier Needs Your Vote

The Stratford native is heading into the finals of "The Voice."

Javier Colon, a Stratford native who now lives in West Hartford, made it into the semifinals and got the chance to sing live again on NBC's "The Voice" on Tuesday night.

The singer, who is considered to be a front-runner in the competition, gained more votes from viewers than any other member of Adam Levine's team.

During the show, Levine, of Maroon 5, praised Colon and referred to past projects in the music industry that have fallen through for the talented local singer.

"You never know what's real. You never know what's going to happen," Colon said.

Colon then picked up the guitar the performed his own version of the Cold Play hit "Fix You".

"You could really do no wrong," Cee Lo Green, a judge for a competing team, said.

"You have one of the best voices I have ever heard ever," Levine said.

Colon got reaction from the judges and the fans when he removed his hat for the first time on the show.

"I wanted to show folks a different side of me," Colon said.

Blake Shelton, a judge for another team, said he wished that he was sitting near where Colon threw his hat, because it's going to be worth a lot of money.

"I've been waiting for you to take that hat off for so long and see what's under there," Christina Aguilera said.

"Look at the beautiful head you've got under that hat," Levine said. "Seriously man, you're the real deal."

During the show Colon Tweeted, "2 words guys. THANK YOU! I have the best fans, friends, and family in the world. Now time to do the voting thing again."

Colon and the remaining 7 contestants must now wait for another results show Wednesday at 8 p.m. on NBC Connecticut to see which 4 will make it into the finals.
