A Waterbury landlord was arrested on Friday and charged in connection with the death of his tenant in March.
Pedro Claudio, 32, died in the March 16 fire at 82 Fox St. in Waterbury.
Narinesammy Ramsammy, 32, of Waterbury, owned the apartment, which violated several fire and building codes, according to the state Division of Criminal Justice.
Claudio lived on the third floor, which was an illegal apartment, according to the arrest warrant affidavit.
Ramsammy was charged with criminally negligent homicide and state building and fire code violations.
