Larson Asks for Resignation Letters From Entire Staff: Report

Democrats in Congress are already anticipating steep budget cuts in the coming year and U.S. Rep. John Larson has asked his entire staff for resignation letters.

Larson, chairman of the House Democratic Caucus, sent a letter on Monday to his personal office, leadership and district staff asking for their resignation and resumes, Politico.com reports.

A Democratic source told Politico that Larson knows the current budget will change and he wants the flexibility to make staff changes.

House Democrats are preparing for widespread layoffs in coming months, as House Republicans rally together vowing to cut the nation's deficit.

According to Politico, it's not unusual for lawmakers to ask for staff resignations to weed out people who may be willing to move on.

At this point, there's no word how deep GOP congressional leaders will cut into staffing levels
