Lawmakers hope to create a special fund to help people who suffered psychological trauma from work related to the Sandy Hook tragedy and held a news conference on Wednesday to announce it.

The money for the Sandy Hook Workers Assistance Fund would come from private donations, they said.

The General Assembly will vote on the fund today.

The first supporters of the fund include AT&T, Dominion, Covidien, NECTA, WWE, CT Trial Lawyers, CT Bar Association and Northeast Utilities.
