LifeStar responded to a 2-car crash on Route 80 in Killingworth on Saturday morning.
Officials said LifeStar was called to 381 CT-80, which is near Chatfield Hollow State Park.
According to State Police, vehicles that were heading east started to slow to allow a car to turn onto a side road, when the last vehicle in the line, a Jeep, swerved to the left, crossed the center line and hit a vehicle that was heading west.
The driver of the vehicle that was heading west was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital by LifeStar. Police said he had a pulse and was breathing when he was transported.
The two people in the Jeep were not injured.
The road was closed while police investigated, but it has since reopened.
