A police officer and another driver have been taken to the hospital after a crash with in Stratford.
Police said the officer had the lights and sirens on while responding to a crash on Broadbridge Avenue and collided with a Honda that was making a left turn.
The crash happened about a block away from the scene of the other crash, according to police.
The female police officer, who has been on the force for about three years, and female driver were both taken to the hospital, where they are in stable condition.
"I'm just happy everyone is alive. Anytime anything like this happens, it can go either way," Captain Frank Iannotti, of Stratford, police, said.
Parts of Barnum Avenue and Nichols Avenue were closed for around two and a half hours.
Police continue to investigate.
