Wethersfield police investigating a fatal crash have charged a 46-year-old New Britain man with driving while intoxicated.
Police responded to Jordan Lane at the Folly Brook Boulevard intersection around 10:30 p.m. on Monday after a driver hit a pedestrian.
An ambulance transported the pedestrian, Donna Nickerson, 50, of Wethersfield, to the hospital, where she was pronounced dead.
Police said Christoper Benjamin, 46, of New Britain, was driving the vehicle. He was charged with driving while intoxicated, held on a $5,000 bond and was presented in court at GA 15 in New Britain on Tuesday.
Members of the Midstate Accident Reconstruction Team are investigating.
Police said additional charges could be filed and they ask anyone who witnessed the crash or has information about it to call the Wethersfield Police Department at (860) 721-2900.
