Man and Woman Charged After Armed Robbery in East Granby

A man and a woman have been arrested after an armed robbery at NH Deli and Grocery in East Granby at knifepoint Wednesday afternoon.

State police responded to the grocery store at 95 Spoonville Road at 2:15 p.m. to investigate an armed robbery and the clerk said a man with a knife robbed her.

Police determined that the man, identified as 50-year-old Thomas Phillips, of Windsor, left the scene in a pickup with Alisha Marie Phillips, 24, of East Windsor. Police said they did not know the relationship between the two suspects.

A state trooper found the pickup in Bloomfield, stopped it and took the two suspects into custody.

Thomas Phillips was charged with first-degree robbery, second-degree reckless endangerment, second-degree criminal mischief and sixth-degree larceny.

Alisha Marie Phillips was charged with first-degree robbery and interfering with an officer. Bond for both was set at $50,000. They are due in court today.
