A man was arrested for a murder in New Haven nearly one year later.
Tyrone Spears, who is already being held at a Connecticut correctional facility for unrelated charges, was arrested for the murder of Levern Bellamy on Monday.
On Sept. 21, 2016, officers responded to 38 Dorman St. around 10 p.m. for a report of a person shot and found the victim, 31-year-old Bellamy, of 38 Dorman St., in the backyard.
A woman was performing CPR on Bellamy as he lay bleeding after sustaining one gunshot wound to his back. The victim was pronounced dead after being transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital, police said.
Spears faces charges that include murder, criminal possession of a pistol and possession of a weapon in a motor vehicle.
