A West Springfield, Massachusetts man was arrested in Wallingford after police said they found him with more than a pound of marijuana in his car.
Matthew Giaquinto, 28, was sleeping behind the wheel of his Dodge pickup at the Cook Hill Road exit of the Oakdale Theater parking lot when police approached him at 1:53 a.m. on Sunday, police said, and the officers smelled marijuana inside the truck.
As police searched Giaquinto's truck, they found more than a pound of marijuana, $1,200, several scales, drug paraphernalia and approximately 24 grams of hash oil, according to a news release from police.
Giaquinto was arrested and charged with possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of more than four ounces of marijuana, possession of marijuana with intent to sell and operating a drug factory.
Giaquinto is being held on a $50,000 bond and is scheduled to appear in Meriden Superior Court on April 22.
