Man Attacked in New Haven While Trying to Get Into Cars That Weren't His: Witnesses

A man was hospitalized after he was assaulted in New Haven on Saturday.

Witnesses told police that Thomas Henderson Jr., 34, was trying to get into cars that didn't belong to him when he was attacked by people who were likely attending a nearby house party.

When police responded to an assault reported near 68 Sylvan Avenue at 1:58 a.m. on Saturday, they found Henderson Jr. semi-conscious with face injuries, police said.

He was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital to be treated for non-life-threatening injuries.

No description of his assailant(s) was immediately available.

Police are investigating the incident.
