A Shelton man is facing charges after crashing his car into a Bristol gym and causing $15,000 worth of damage to the building and equipment.
Lemar T. Ranger, 29, of Shelton, drove his car into Club Fitness at 400 Middle Street in Bristol shortly before 4 p.m. on June 21 and caused a “major disturbance” at the gym, according to police.
Police said they found Ranger acting “irrational” in the gym and took him into custody after he damaged computers, mirrors, lighting, food products and displays, among other items.
Ranger was taken to a local hospital for medical evaluation. No one was hurt during the incident.
She was arrested Tuesday and charged with first-degree criminal mischief, second-degree reckless endangerment and second-degree breach of peace.
He was held on $5,000 bond and is due in court Wednesday.
