Police ID Man Killed in Hartford Shooting

Police have identified a man who was killed in a shooting in Hartford on Tuesday evening.

Officers said they were called to the area of 1487 Albany Ave. around 6 p.m.

When they arrived they found the victim, later identified as 48-year-old Trevor Cumberbatch, of Windsor, with a gunshot wound to the chest. He was rushed to St. Francis Hospital, where he died of his injuries.

Investigators are looking at the scene on Albany Avenue and a second scene a few blocks away on Pembroke Street. They do have a vehicle of interest in the case.

Police believe this was a targeted attack.

The investigation is ongoing. Anyone with information is asked to call the anonymous tips line at 860-722-TIPS.

"We know that there were many people in the parking lot here at the location at the time of incident so we're asking anyone with information to contact us and your information can remain anonymous," Hartford Police Lt. Paul Cicero said.

This marks the 20th homicide in the city this year.
