Man Pointed Gun at Officers in Car in Meriden: Police

A man pointed a gun at officers in a car in Meriden and police have arrested a suspect after the investigation led police to an apartment where they said they found drugs and a gun. 

Police said members of the crime suppression unit were in a vehicle in the area of Willow Street and St. Casimir Drive when two men walked up just after 4:30 p.m. and one pointed what appeared to be a gun at the officers. 

The officers tried to get to a safe location, but the men ran to them and again displayed the weapon. 

The officers then got out of the car and gave verbal commands, but the men ran, according to police. 

Police found one of the suspects, 21-year-old Alezei Rosario, of Meriden, and took him into custody on an outstanding arrest warrant. 

While searching his Willow Street apartment, police found narcotics and a handgun, police said. 

They said the other man is known to officers and they are investigating. 

Rosario was charged with operating a drug factory, possession of narcotics wits within 1,500 feet of a school zone, possession of narcotics with intent to sell, possession of narcotics, possession of a controlled substance within 1,500 feet of a school zone, possession of a controlled substance with intent to sell, weapons in a motor vehicle, interfering with an officer and breach of peace in the second degree.
