Bridgeport Man Killed in Ansonia Forklift Accident

A Bridgeport man has died of injuries he sustained in a forklift accident in Ansonia Saturday.

Police said the accident happened around 8:45 a.m. at a home on North Prospect Street Extension. Police said the victim, 47-year-old Mazhar Khan, was working for a subcontractor of Lowe's Home Improvement delivering wood when the forklift he was operating rolled over and he was seriously injured.

Khan was taken to Griffin Hospital and transferred to Yale-New Haven Hospital for treatment. He died on Sunday, according to Ansonia police.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by Ansonia police and OSHA.
