New Haven Police are investigating after a man was shot in the leg Sunday afternoon.
Officers who were on patrol heard gunfire near Spring Street around 1:15 p.m.
A concerned citizen directed police to a man who had been shot near the intersection of Hurlburt Street and Spring Street.
Police said they found the man lying in the street, suffering from a gunshot wound to his leg. An officer applied a tourniquet before emergency medical responders arrived.
The 35-year-old New Haven man was transported by ambulance to the hospital with a non life-threatening injury. He is listed in stable condition, authorities said.
