A woman was stabbed at the Walmart on Dixwell Avenue in Hamden on Tuesday night and police have arrested her ex-boyfriend.
Police said responded to the Walmart at 2300 Dixwell Ave. at 6:45 p.m. on Tuesday and found a 62 year-old Hamden woman with a stab wound in her chest on the ground, near the cash registers.
She was transported to Yale-New Haven Hospital and her condition is not known. Police have not released her name.
Officers found Nathaniel. Williams, 68, of New Haven, in front of the store and took him into custody.
According to police, the couple dated several years ago.
Williams was charged with first-degree assault and breach of peace and was detained on a $50,000. He is scheduled to appear in court in Meriden today.
