Man Survives Getting Hit By Train

Cop says the victim could lose his legs

A 38-year-old man might lose his legs but, amazingly, he survived being hit by a train at the Old Greenwich rail station Sunday afternoon.

The man was dangling his legs from the edge of the platform and swearing into a cell phone when the train came, Greenwich Time reports.

People were yelling at him to get up, and it appeared that he tried, but it was too late.

"The guy got wrecked," Tim Ichniowski, of Brooklyn, told the Time.

The victim was taken to Stamford Hospital and will probably lose his legs, a police officer told the newspaper.Police have not released the victim’s name.

Train service never stopped. Trains were merely rerouted, a station manager told the paper.
