Man Threatened Victim Over Girl: Police

Police said Michael Greenspun pulled a knife on them when they questioned him.

A West Haven man was arrested on Monday night, accused of threatening another person to a knife fight over a girl.

Police said Michael Greenspun, 23, confronted another person on Washington Avenue at 5:30 p.m., challenged a fight and displayed a knife.  

The complainant refused to fight and called police instead.

When police later found Greenspun walking on Savin Avenue, he pulled out the knife and said “He is not going back to jail, and you’ll have to kill me,” according to police.  

When officers threatened to use of a stun gun, Greenspun got down on the ground to be handcuffed.  

Greenspun was charged with reckless endangerment, threatening, interfering with police, breach of peace and refusal to be fingerprinted.

He was held on bond.

Greenspun has prior convictions for robbery, assault and larceny.

He is due in court later this month to answer to

criminal trespassing and breach of peace charges as well as a criminal trespassing charge.
