Man Wanted in Home Invasion 20 Years Ago in Custody

A Massachusetts man suspected in a home invasion committed in Willimantic nearly 20 years ago is back in Connecticut in police custody.

Jose Manuel Blanco-Dominguez, 57 of Lawrence, Massachusetts, was held as a fugitive of justice in Massachusetts, but Willimantic police took him into custody on Monday.

On Saturday, May 14, Boxborough, Massachusetts police pulled Blanco-Dominguez over after a check of his registration alerted police he had an active warrant against him.

He attempted to provide police with many aliases, but was arrest, police said. 

He is suspcted in an incident on June 25, 1997 in which two men, two women and two children were held at knifepoint at a Windham home.

After a 30 minute standoff with police, three of the masked men were captured.

Blanco-Dominguez eluded police by jumping out of a window and running into the nearby woods.

He has been charged with first-degree burglary, first-degree robbery and conspiracy.

Bond was set at $500,000 and he is due in court on Tuesday.
