Man Who Killed Woman and Stored Her in Freezer Convicted

The man who killed a woman and stored her body in a freezer has been sentenced to 28 and a half years.

Luis Otero told police he killed Madeline Brisson because she admitted to him that she slept with his mentally challenged daughter, the Hartford Courant reported.

Otero’s sister, Sandra William, told Groton police in March 2010 that her brother told her during a phone conversation the day before that "he got angry and could not take it any longer," the newspaper reports.

Otero, an Army veteran, told her "the lady he lived with" had been drinking the night of the crime, yelled at him about his daughter and said he could not take care of her, the Courant reports.

Brisson’s body was found in a freezer in the Gold Star Highway home she and Otero shared in March 2010.

Otero knew Brisson had been involved in lesbian relationships in the past, and while he wasn't sure if Brisson meant they had been together sexually, "he got angry," the Courant reports, citing the warrant.

The warrant said that Otero went to Groton police department on the night of March 7, 2010 and said a woman's body was in a freezer at 1184 Gold Star Highway, the Courant reports. Police asked how he knew and he said he had put it there.
