Postal Employee Accused of Firing Shots In Custody

A postal employee police said fired shots in New Haven Friday morning is in custody after an investigation that closed a highway. 

The man fired shots on Middletown Avenue, abandoned a USPS van in Wallingford and continued driving in his personal vehicle, police said. No one was hurt, police said.

Police previously said they know who the man is. They are not yet released his name.

State Police report they pulled him over in the area between exits 8 and 9 on Interstate 95 southbound.

The highway has been closed in both directions.
