A Manchester man who is accused of violently sexually assaulting a woman turned himself in to police on Thursday.
Officers said 31-year-old Bristen Gilmore, of Manchester, turned himself in on an active arrest warrant in relation to a sexual assault that happened on December 7, 2018.
Police said a 41-year-old woman from Manchester reported the incident to Manchester Police on December 8, the day after she said the assault happened.
According to police, the woman described a violent assault that happened after she allowed Gilmore into her home to use the bathroom. She told police that Gilmore, who was naked, came up behind her, pulled her pants down and forced himself on her as she tried to fight him off.
Gilmore has been charged with sexual assault and was held on a court set bond of $450,000. He is scheduled to appear in court on January 24.
