A Massachusetts man has been charged in connection with a fatal motorcycle and car crash in Thompson that happened almost a year ago, police said
Omar Velez, 21, was arrested in connection with the death of a motorcyclist, plus additional marijuana and traffic charges.
State police received calls of a motor vehicle crash crash at the intersection of Dresser Hill Road and Route 197, officials said.
Motorcyclist Penny Ann Woodbury, 50, of Woodstock died as a result of the crash.
After learning of a warrant out for his arrest, Velez surrendered himself to Connecticut State Police, troopers said.
Velez was charged with negligent homicide with a motor vehicle, possession of marijuana and failure to obey a stop sign.
His bond was set at $75,000
