MDA Benefit Ride & Concert with Bret Michaels and Grand Funk Railroad Set for July 14

Hundreds of motorcycle riders will be hitting the road on July 14 to benefit a great cause.  The 5th annual MDA Benefit Ride & Concert presented by Trantolo & Trantolo will take place at the Sun Valley Resort in Stafford Springs.

The event supports the Muscular Dystrophy Association.  All proceeds from the ride benefit the MDA of CT.

More than 1,000 motorcycle riders from Connecticut and Massachusetts are expected.  It's the state's largest one-day charity motorcycle ride.

“The MDA Benefit Ride & Concert is a summer event destination for motorcyclists and music fans from across the region. But most importantly, it is one of our largest annual fundraisers so we appreciate both the financial support and event organization from Trantolo & Trantolo,” said Connecticut MDA Executive Director, Kevin Cassesse.

Riders will leave from Old School Harley Davidson, Yankee Harley Davidson, and Sheldon's Harley Davidson.

The featured musical acts this year are rocker Bret Michaels and Grand Funk Railroad.

“New this year we are also selling reserved tent seating tickets at $50 per person. These seats will be under a big tent which will provide welcomed shade,” said event coordinator, Norm LeBlanc. These tickets can be purchased at Old School Harley-Davidson in Ellington (formerly TSI Harley-Davidson) or Yankee Harley-Davidson in Bristol.

Before the entertainment begins, guests can enter for a chance to win raffle prizes, including a brand-new Harley-Davidson Motorcycle.

NBC Connecticut's Josh Cingranelli will be emcee of the event.
