The Chester-Hadlyme Ferry will be closed until further notice because of mechanical issues, according to the state Department of Transportation.
The ferry, which crosses the Connecticut River, provides a direct link between the two towns from April 1 to Nov. 30 each year.

The Glastonbury-Rocky Hill Ferry is open for the season.
