Men Attack Teen Outside New Haven Hotel

A 19-year-old man is in critical condition after he was stabbed outside a New Haven hotel on Sunday afternoon.

Police responded to the La Quinta Inn & Suites, at 400 Sargent Drive, at 2:59 p.m. on Sunday after an employee called 911 to report a stabbing.

Officers who went to the scene found a 19-year-old man who had been stabbed several times in the torso, head and right calf, police said.

The person who called 911 didn’t see the assault and said the victim was bleeding from the head when he came into the hotel.

Police reviewed video surveillance, which showed the victim standing alone when two men confronted him outside the hotel’s back door.

After assaulting the victim, the attackers left, went through the parking lot toward a silver four-door car parked toward the IKEA property.

The victim was rushed into the operating room, where he is listed in critical condition. Detectives haven’t yet been able to speak with him and believe the victim was the intended target. They have not identified the attackers, have been following up on a lead and ask anyone who witnessed the attack or has information to call 203-946-6304.
