Police are looking for the men who they believe posed as utility salesmen and burglarized a Hartford home earlier this month.
Two flat-screen TVs were stolen during the burglary at 51 Westland Street in Hartford on Sept. 3 and police believe one of the burglars dropped a fake ID with his real photo at the crime scene, according to Hartford police.
A neighbor of the victim told police that two men had come to her door before the burglary, trying to sell her gas and electric at discounted prices.
The ID police released is for a Carlos Sanchez and says he works fro PALMco, a New York-based company.
The company released a statement saying the men involved are not and have never been employees of PALMCo.
"As a family-owned and -operated business, we were upset to hear that someone has fraudulently identified himself as a PALMco employee to mislead individuals and break into their homes. The suspect is not, nor has he ever been, a PALMco employee. We uphold our employees to the highest ethical standards to ensure quality customer service, and only hire staff who can meet this threshold. We will continue to fully cooperate with the Hartford Police Department until the suspect is apprehended," the company said in a statement.
