Milford Daycare Worker Accused of Hurting Child

Milford police have arrested a Milford daycare worker who is accused of hurting a 3-year-old boy.

Tammy Gosney, 60, of Milford, is accused of grabbing a child by the wrist, yanking the child up from the ground and injuring the child’s elbow while she was employed at Good Child Day Care in Milford.

Officials from the daycare said the incident happened on June 27 and they fired Gosney that day and notified the state office of early childhood and the state Department of Children and Families immediately.

Gosney had worked for the Milford daycare for five years.

Bill Okwuosa, the executive director of Good Child Day Care, said they have a zero-tolerance policy and they do not tolerate any physical abuse or neglect.

Okwuosa has served as executive director for 16 months and said there had been no prior incidents with that employee in the time he has worked there.

Gosney was taken into custody this morning and charged with risk of injury.

She was released on a promise to appear and is due in court on Aug. 28.
