Abandoned Miniature Pinscher Found Hungry, Hurt

Police don’t know how long she had gone without food and water after being abandoned near the woods of Farmington.

Police believe the female red and tan miniature pinscher had been left in a crate and was somehow able to free herself, injuring her leg as she fought her way out, police said.

On Wednesday, around 1:45 p.m., someone saw the dog in distress on Two Mile Road at Batterson Park Road and called police.

Police investigated and found the little dog. She was taken for veterinary treatment and is expected to recover.

The dog was wearing a flea collar, police said.

Anyone with information is asked to call Farmington Police Animal Control Officer Charlene Rogers at (860)-675-2440.
