Mom Inspires Community to Help Appalachia

A mom of four from one of Connecticut’s wealthiest towns has rallied Old Greenwich to help poor moms and kids in need in Appalachia.

Amy Guerrieri, the owner of Rockin’ Water, and her group, Moms on a Mission, collected items, from water to diapers, clothes and more, to bring to Kentucky.

People donated what they could, whether it was a notebook or the cash someone would spend for coffee. Everything helps, she said.

Guerrieri went beyond collecting. Earlier this month, she made the 11-hour trip to meet with people from the Christian Appalachia Project.
