Weather Finally Cooperates for Newington's Motorcycle Madness

It’s been a long time coming, Motorcycle Madness finally underway in Newington.

Mother Nature decided to eventually cooperate Friday night at Mill Pond Park.

The event had to be rescheduled many times this month because of bad or potentially bad weather.

Friday night was the fourth set date of the event.

Families enjoyed live music, food, vendors, lawn games for the family, and even a fireworks show.

Folks who helped think up the idea, hope it brings the community closer together.

“We needed something here for the community, for the biker community, but also to show people bikers aren’t all bad people. There’s a reason why they’re called one-percenters and they’re one percent of the biker crowd,” said motorcyclist Bob Serra. “So this event brings people together. Let’s them see we’re fathers, we’re grandparents, we’re aunts, brothers, and moms, you know we’re part of the community.”

This is the 4th year Newington has hosted “Motorcycle Madness.”

Money raised from the admission fee helps fund Newington’s July festival and fireworks show.
