A motorcyclist has serious injuries after a crash in Barkhamsted on Sunday night.
According to police, 34-year-old Gary Schwartz, of Ansonia, was driving southbound on Route 219 in Barkhamsted, north of Ratlum Road in New Hartford around 5:00 p.m.
Schwartz drifted off the southbound shoulder before losing control on the grass. His motorcycle then re-entered the southbound section of the roadway before landing on its side.
First responders found Schwartz laying on the southbound side of Route 219 next to his motorcycle.
Schwartz had a head injury and was transported to Hartford Hospital by LifeStar, police said.
