Rocky Neck, Hammonasset, Multiple Other State Parks Close After Reaching Capacity

Multiple state parks including Rocky Neck and Hammonasset have closed after reaching capacity on Sunday.

State Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection officials said the parking lots at the following parks are full and the parks have now closed to new visitors:

  • Bigelow Hollow State Park in Union
  • Burr Pond State Park in Torrington
  • Devil's Hopyard State Park in East Haddam
  • Gardner Lake State Park in Salem
  • Hammonasset Beach State Park in Madison
  • Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford
  • Millers Pond State Park in Haddam
  • Mount Tom State Park in Litchfield
  • Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme
  • Satan's Kingdom State Park in New Hartford
  • Scantic River State Park, Powder Hollow in Enfield
  • Sherwood Island State Park in Westport
  • Silver Sands State Park in Milford
  • Wadsworth Falls State Park in Middletown

Any park that closes today is expected to reopen to new visitors tomorrow.
