Multiple State Parks Reach Capacity, Close

Multiple state parks have reached capacity on Sunday and are now closed.

The state Dept. of Energy and Environmental Protection said the following parks have reached parking capacity and have closed:

  • Burr Pond State Park in Torrington
  • C.P. Huntington State Park in Bethel, Newtown and Redding
  • Harkness Memorial State Park in Waterford
  • Lovers Leap State Park in New Milford
  • Rocky Neck State Park in East Lyme
  • Sherwood Island State Park in Westport
  • Silver Sands State Park in Milford
  • Sleeping Giant State Park in Hamden
  • Southford Falls State Park in Southbury
  • Topsmead State Forest in Litchfield

All of the parks are expected to reopen tomorrow.
