Name of Man Killed in House Explosion Released

A 71-year-old man is dead and his wife is in critical condition.

A 71-year-old man was killed when a house exploded in Coventry on Saturday night and police have released his name.

Gerald Dube was killed in the explosion at 19 Old Oak Trail around 7:30 p.m. on Saturday. He and his wife, Jacqueline Dube, 71, were at the house of their 45-year-old son, Robert Dube, Robert's friend, Derek Anniello said.

They were there to help fix a leaky pipe and propane tank under the deck, according to Anniello.

Jacqueline Dube is in critical condition. Robert Dube was treated at Windham Hospital and released.

The state fire marshal is investigating the cause of the explosion.
