Naugatuck Police Seek Woman Accused of Using Financial Info Taken During Burglary to Steal Over $50,000

Naugatuck Police are searching for a woman who is accused of participating in a burglary where she took someone's financial information and then used it to steal thousands of dollars from their bank accounts.

Police said they are asking for the public's help finding 24-year-old Stephanie Amber Metevier, who was last known to live in the Hamden or Milford area.

According to officers, they have an outstanding arrest warrant for her for charges including larceny, identity theft, forgery and burglary.

The warrant stems from an incident where Metevier allegedly participated in a burglary that gave her access to the victim's financial information. That information was then used to steal over $50,000 from the victim's bank accounts during fall of 2018, officers said.

There were additional suspects who were previously arrested and police said Metevier is the last person wanted in the case.

If anyone has any information about Metevier's whereabouts, you're urged to contact Naugatuck Police at (203) 729-5221 or the NPD Confidential Tip Line at (203) 720 1010. Anyone who sees her is urged to not approach her.
