A New Britain man is undergoing surgery after a hit-and-run driver struck him on Jubilee Street Sunday morning, and New Britain police are trying to find the driver.
The victim, identified at 55-year-old Luis Delgado, was hit by a car in front of his home at 167 Jubilee Street around 11:40 a.m. Sunday, according to his family.
Delgado had just finished mowing the lawn, noticed something in his driveway and went to pick it up when he was struck, his wife said.
He suffered serious but non life-threatening injuries, police confirmed.
The suspect vehicle is described as a late 1980s or early 1990s Honda Civic-type sedan. The car would have damage to the front end, hood and windshield.
