Police ID Woman Killed, New Britain Police Searching for ‘Armed and Dangerous' Suspect

Police have identified a woman who was killed and New Britain police said the man they are searching for should be considered armed and dangerous.

Police said they responded to Elam Street just before 6 p.m. Monday to investigate the report of gunshots and found a woman, later identified as 27-year-old Alice Marie Figueroa, of New Britain, who had been shot several times.

She was taken to a local hospital, where she later died, according to police.

An autopsy was performed and the Officer of the Chief Medical Examiner determined Figueroa's death was caused from a gunshot and it was ruled a homicide, police said.

Investigators identified 42-year-old Benjamin Morales, of Elam Street, as the suspect, according to police, and they obtained a warrant charging him with murder and they are searching for him.

He and the victim knew each other “based on a domestic relationship,” according to police.

Morales is 5-feet-6 and has brown hair and brown eyes.

He is known to frequent New Britain and Hartford and police warn that he is considered to be armed and dangerous and should not be approached.

Anyone with information about where Morales is should call the New Britain Police Department at 860-826-3000.
